8:40 I would support the cause and support your shorty movie, but no I wouldn’t call it good, I think he meant that it’s a good cause so you shouldnt have cuams supporting it but that doesn’t necessarily make it a “good” flick. I think you missed or misconstrued the point, or your bias blinded you either way I’m still watching the rest of vud.

C.S. Lewis wrote a book called Til We Have Faces, which is like a Babylonian imagining of the Cupid and Psyche myth. It still explores themes often found in Christian stories and if you're a giant nerd, a pretty fun read.

So I don't know if there was a case that decided that a group like the one in the books can legally be defined to fall within the scope of Art. 6 of the Rome Statute. The Statute (and Elements of Crimes) itself only says "particular national, ethnical, racial or religious group". Furthermore I am unsure about the part where it says "to destroy in whole or in part" regarding this case. So I can't say if it was genocide. However I can say for certain that Kai committed the crime against humanity of deportation or forcible transfer of population persuant to Art. 7 (1)(d) of the Rome Statute.

I read the whole prince of thorns (broken empire) series and holy heck Jorg was AWFUL, but the story was super interesting, and the twist blew me away. I was so bummed I didn't have anyone to gush about that part of the story with. His other series, The Red Queen's War, also has a villian protag, but a different type of villian than Jorg, and he teams up with a good/honorable guy in the story. He has some character growth, but is still kinda awful at the end which suits the character. Mark Lawrence is really good at writing awful main characters in interesting stories.

The jab at Anita Sarkeesian just feels outdated and unnecessary. You have to remember that much like their politics right-wing criticism is basically just bad idea apologia. If it's trite and lazy it's good, if it's novel and creative it's bad. No stereotype is untrue, unless it applies to them, then it's a maybe, and no cliche is is out of bounds. You can't complain about how bad it is, it's a popular idea specifically because it's _good,_ that's how good works. That scene is an absolute ripoff of 24, which I have seen every episode of. Your description of the scene from that lense is disturbing because 24 reveals its dishonesty through these types of psychological torture. Jack Bauer threatens this guy with death and he says he is not afraid to die, because he will be a martyr. Then Bauer threatens to kill his family and the man screams and cries and begs him to stop. As if a religious fanatic who believes he will be a martyr does not believe his family dying for the same cause will not be martyrs. 24 is consistently "revealing" to the audience characters' false "beliefs" through torture. What's the one belief that's true? Jack Bauer is tortured by the Chinese government for two years, and he doesn't give up one secret! It's just so transparent.

Why are you bashing anime so much in this video? Most of what I've watched has been quite good, yes there is a lot of bad anime, but it sounds like you're judging it by a wildly different standard than you do fantasy. One moment you're talking about how you should not judge fantasy as a whole by these bad books, the next moment you judge an entire medium by it's equivalent to this. This is a really bad take, and if you keep going on like this, I'll probably unsubscribe- if you're going to keep saying anime is shit because of stuff that I've barely seen in anime I've watched, I don't see why I should at all like you as a critic.

21:23 Volkssturm was a national militia established by Nazi Germany during the last months of World War II. It was set up by the Nazi Party on the orders of Adolf Hitler. It was staffed by conscripting males between the ages of 16 and 60 years, who were not already serving in some military unit. Volkssturm units fought unsuccessful battles against Allied forces at the end of the war and on several occasions, its members participated in atrocities accompanied by German civilians and the Hitler Youth, which were overseen by members of the SS or Gaue leaders. Einsatzgruppen were Schutzstaffel paramilitary death squads of Nazi Germany that were responsible for mass murder, primarily by shooting, during World War II in German-occupied Europe.

(However, I agree, the sequels are extremely bad EXCEPT for the first part of Son which is legitimately heart wrenching and better than the first book which I like. I HIGHLY recommend, especially because the other 2 sequels play little to no part in Son.)

Every AI dystopia always involves a rogue AI that becomes extremely intelligent, then takes over the world through a carefully concocted plan to stop a war or protect the environment or something, but it goes too far in its endeavor and tries to exterminate humanity in the process. What about a dystopia where a dumb AI takes over instead? I want a story where tech bros take over the world and put a barely functional "AI✨" in charge of everything. Then, because its information base is made mostly of social media posts, "poisoned" images, and memes, it makes a series of misinformed decisions that causes the economy to collapse and technology to become useless. The tech bros insist that they have learned their lesson, and will let a "more competent" AI rule the world next time.
